How to Clean a Bottom Load Water Cooler?

Clean and sanitize your water cooler to improve the taste and healthiness of your drinking water. This process is easy and fast. You only need a few things, and it will take less than fifteen minutes. However, you will need to be careful while cleaning and sanitizing your cooler. It is very important to follow the manufacturer’s directions for the safe use of the cleaner and disinfectant.

The first step is to unplug the cooler. Disconnect the power cord and remove the spigots. If you have a no-spill model, you can remove the guard by twisting it and pulling it off. Make sure to wipe down the air vents on the cooler. This will prevent excessive dust from building up and wearing down the system.

Next, clean the inside of the water reservoir with a long-handled scrub brush. You can also flush the baffle in the reservoir. This may be a white plastic plate or a stainless steel tube. These parts can be cleaned with hot soapy water, and then rinsed.

Once you have finished cleaning the inside, it is time to clean the outside of the water cooler. Be sure to use a non-toxic cleaner and a soft cloth to get the area ready. Rinse the drip tray with clean water. After that, reassemble the cooler.

Before you start to wash the water dispenser, it is a good idea to make a note of all the areas that need to be cleaned. This includes the bottle opening, the valves, and the dispensing lever. All of these parts should be free of dirt, debris, and leaks. They should be wiped down with a lint-free towel and sanitizing solution.

While you are cleaning your cooler, be sure to wear protective gear. Wearing gloves and a mask is highly recommended. Never mix bleach and vinegar. Bleach can corrode stainless steel, so it is best to only use it to disinfect the cooler.

For the exterior of the cooler, you can use a spray that is designed for cleaning and sanitizing. Or you can clean the interior of the cooler with warm soapy water.

Once you have finished, you can plug the cooler back in. Do not leave the cleaner in the cooler for more than five minutes. Rinse the parts with a sanitizing solution and then rinse them again with clean water.

To finish the water dispenser, you can use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the surface. You can also sanitize the interior with anti-bacterial wipes. Leaving a dirty water cooler may cause bacteria and mold to grow, so you should thoroughly clean your machine every six weeks.

If you are having trouble with your water cooler, be sure to contact the manufacturer for assistance. They will be able to provide you with information about how to sanitize your water dispenser, as well as repair and maintenance tips.
