Replaceable Filters

What Can They Filter

Carbon filters are able to filter contaminants through absorption.

These filters are very porous and are therefore able to trap particles such as sediment, chlorine, tastes, odors and volatile organic compounds. They do not filter out contaminates such as bacteria, minerals, salts, and dissolved inorganic substances.

When Are They Used

Many residences operating off of city water will install a carbon filter to remove bad tastes and odors such as chlorine. Others feel better having an extra filter paired with their other systems.

Replaceable Carbon Filters are often installed before UV systems. This ensures the UV doesn’t get plugged up by any debris and will continue sanitizing your homes water.

In Need Of A Replaceable Filter?

Easy Maintenance

Replaceable filters require little to no maintenance.

These filters should be changed out once every six months. However, for water with a high concentrate of contaminants replaceable filters should be checked and/or changed every 3 months.

We make it easy by keeping track of your filter changes. Let us save you the time, worry and frustration by changing the filters for you.

If you would rather change the filters yourself, we can provide you with everything you need. And we’ll still keep track of your filter changes by delivering the filter(s) to your door.

Jack then moved his family to Missoula, MT and since water treatment was his trade, he and his business partner (Fred) started another McGowan Water Conditioning in 1968. A short time later, Jack sold the Missoula location and moved back to the Mankato area.

Bought by Duane (Fred) Friedrichs McGowan Water continued to grow soon expanding outside of Missoula. 40 years later Fred sold his business to two of his employees, John Binns and Justin Boggs.

However, while one partner was dedicated to the expansion and growth of the business, the other was less so, and John soon bought him out of the company. Since then, McGowan Water has continued to expand, exceeding 10,000+ accounts and always extending a hand to new communities.

McGowan & Son’s National Soft Water Service, which later became McGowan Water Conditioning was started by Lyle “Mac” McGowan in 1955. Mac had worked for Mankato Culligan in Minnesota until he decided to live the American dream and start his own company.

In 1963 Mac passed away at a young age leaving McGowan & Son’s National Soft Water Service to his wife, Betty, who put her oldest son, Jack, in the lead. Jack ran the business for his mother until 1968 when she decided to sell to businessmen from the Mankato area.
